HAF II 500

Cooler, Quieter, Stronger
HAF II 500 represents the pinnacle of Cooler Master’s airflow case lineup. Built on evolved HAF DNA, it does more than bring together two user experiences once thought incompatible - more powerful cooling and lower operating noise. It allows both to advance further and coexist at a higher level. Powered by an unprecedented fan configuration in consumer PC cases, two Mighty40 F220 intake fans (220 × 40 mm) and one Mighty40 V180 exhaust fan (180 × 40 mm), HAF II 500 delivers industry-leading noise-normalized cooling performance, enabling lower component temperatures at a given system noise level. Enabling this advanced fan configuration is a split-level layout engineered to maximize internal space utilization. In addition, with the MasterRail multi-purpose mounting system and support for versatile GPU and storage configurations, HAF II 500 fulfills Cooler Master’s commitment to the FreeForm 2.0 chassis design philosophy, delivering a truly Cooler Master–signature building experience.

4 Product Pillars

i) Thermal Excellence
The Mighty40 fan series pushes both diameter and thickness of consumer axial fans to the extreme, delivering a dramatic improvement in cooling-performance-to-noise ratio over conventional designs. This allows HAF II 500 to reduce cooling-system noise in the simplest way by using lower RPMs and fewer fans without compromising its pursuit of excellent cooling performance.
At the same time, HAF II 500 does not rely on an overly elaborate layout. Every Mighty40 fan is positioned where it can contribute most efficiently to system cooling. Less is more; simple, yet effective. This seemingly straightforward cooling philosophy is the secret behind HAF II 500’s challenge for dominance in noise-normalized cooling performance.

ii) Innovative Design
HAF II 500 brings together an unusually high concentration of industry-first designs rarely seen in consumer PC cases: a split-level structure that reallocates often-underutilized portions of cable-management space to accommodate the extraordinarily large exhaust fan; MasterRail, a sliding mounting system that allows users to conveniently install a variety of devices at the top and front of the case; and the Dual-Mode GPU Holder that uses a minimalist design to easily support different GPU configurations.
Beyond these, HAF II 500 features even more original designs for users to enjoy. The development team’s engineering insight translates into a more reassuring user experience and broader creative freedom.

iii) Multi-Role Versatility
With MasterRail, Dual-Mode GPU Holder, and Dual-Orientation HDD Cage Mounting Positions, HAF II 500 offers exceptionally rich configuration flexibility, placing it firmly within the category of competitive modular cases.
Thanks to the remarkable cooling-performance-to-noise ratio of the Mighty40 series fans, HAF II 500 still offers a wide range of configuration flexibility even when operating within a low-noise range - an objective traditionally pursued by noise-dampened cases. As a result, HAF II 500 can competently serve as a noise-dampened case.
With eight PCIe expansion slots and support for long PSUs, HAF II 500 is also well suited for workstation builds that rely heavily on PCIe expansion devices.

iv) Community-Informed Development
The development of HAF II 500 was supported by the PC hardware community. Contributions from the community helped ensure HAF II 500’s adaptability and performance in real-world scenarios.
Through close communication with key members of the PC hardware community, the development team was able to obtain timely feedback on critical designs, allowing details to be refined and mistakes to be corrected. The team also worked with an independent temperature-controlled testing lab to validate the fan design, using neutral data to safeguard the steady improvement of fan performance throughout development.

Features:

Oversized Extra-Thick Fans
A purpose-built intake–exhaust system: two Mighty40 F220 intake fans (220 × 40 mm) maximize intake airflow at a controlled noise level, while the Mighty40 V180 exhaust fan (180 × 40 mm) helps keep exhaust airflow as balanced as possible with intake airflow, relieving the long-standing exhaust bottleneck in airflow cases and redefining airflow case cooling performance.

Low Airflow Resistance Design
Large front and rear ventilation openings increase airflow throughput, reducing airflow resistance as much as possible, and therefore minimizing chassis-induced interference with fan performance and airflow paths

Split-Level Cable Management
Zoned cable-routing space is designed around the thickness and quantity of cables routed through each area, optimizing space utilization. This creates the room needed to accommodate an oversized exhaust fan for improved cooling efficiency, while avoiding uncontrolled chassis volume growth.

MasterRail
Sliding rails and accompanying locking modules support multiple fan and radiator sizes. The thoughtful design does  not obstruct the airflow path of cooling components, helping them deliver their full performance potential. Beyond  fans and radiators, any device with mounting-hole layouts matching supported fan or radiator standards can also be  secured to MasterRail.

Sliding Cable Cover
The integrated Sliding Cable Cover conceals cables within the centralized routing chamber and visually blends with the motherboard, helping the finished system look clean and organized. Its airflow-guiding design also reduces cable-induced airflow disruption without compromising memory cooling.

Dual-Mode GPU Holder
The Dual-Mode GPU Holder gives users the flexibility to clamp a single GPU or support two GPUs. When supporting two GPUs, each graphics card can be up to 3.6 slots (72mm) thick

Thermally Prioritized Airflow Divider
The Airflow Divider splits airflow from the lower intake fan into two paths. The primary airflow path is directed toward the position of a standalone GPU, the most common graphics card configuration. The secondary airflow path is guided toward the drive cage area, while still allowing air to be drawn through the ventilation openings above the PSU shroud by devices installed in the PCIe slot area.

Flexible Storage Configuration
A convertible drive cage supports both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives and can be installed in different orientations depending on PSU length, providing flexible storage configurations while making efficient use of the lower chamber space.

Scientific Computing Platform Compatibility
Supports up to four dual-slot GPUs with blower-style coolers, or two open-air GPUs up to 3.6 slots (72mm) thick,  with PSU clearance up to 210 mm—making it capable of supporting AI, rendering, simulation, and other GPU compute-intensive platforms.
